UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

from $100.00

INTRODUCTION TO RISOGRAPHY
SATURDAY, MARCH 8
1 - 4 pm
50 Agnes St, Providence RI 02909

This three hour workshop is an introduction to the risograph printing process. We’ll talk about the basics of how the machines work, how they’re being used today, and look at examples from our collection.

After a brief intention setting and conversation about the magic of risograph printing, you’ll be led through a demonstration on our riso EZ591s, Octavia and Dolly. We'll discuss specifics in class, but preliminary information about our machines can be found here

We’ll talk about the various ways of creating images for risograph printing and you’ll leave with an in depth handout. Though you’re welcome to bring your own mark making tools, plenty of pens, markers, collage material, water colors, and more will be provided.

As an introductory analog workshop, no digital tools are required and no prior riso printing experience is necessary.

Everyone will create a single color print, up to 11 x 17 inches, and will receive 20 copies, as well as copies of everyone else’s prints. Students are able to choose from a variety of provided paper choices, or supply their own.

Successful completion of the workshop provides participants with access to future open studio hours.

One workshop spot has been set aside for one Black, Indigenous, or person of color who lives or works in the greater Providence area to attend free of charge. If this describes you, please email us. Patreon supporters at the Bay Leaf level or above can also attend free of charge.

WITCHES IN PRINT
Digital Knowledge Share
ONLINE (pre-recorded + captioned)

Years of research condensed into a 30 minute closed captioned knowledge share outlining a brief history of the printing press, the inextricable connection between the mass dissemination of propaganda made possible by the printing press and the European witch trials, and the importance of activists, artists, and independent presses recording their own histories in contradiction to narratives written by those in power.

This knowledge share is intended for individual use. Please email for institutional rates.
